According to the Wrestling Observer, the original WrestleMania 35 plan for Daniel Bryan was for him to face Shane McMahon(the SmackDown Live Commissioner).
WWE even teased it on last episode of SmackDown Live prior to Daniel's WWE Title win over AJ Styles.
However, plans for Daniel vs. Shane have now been dropped due to Daniel’s Title win.
